Dot Scot Registry is the not-for-profit venture planning to establish and operate a new Top Level Domain (gTLD) of .scot.
The application for .scot has been accepted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) as one of 1,930 potential new gTLDs and is now part of an evaluation process which could mean that the domain is ready to go live in January 2015.
The time is ripe for the worldwide family of Scots to have their own domain, reflecting an online community defined by a shared commitment to Scottish identity, culture and economic promotion.
